It takes maturity to admit that you are wrong. Especially when you know you are right.

It is one of the most important question to ask yourself. Do you engage in an argument with your close friends or family. Specially, when the view points are so polar.

Argument over the belief, politics, religion or any subject which is sensitive in nature can potentially burn down the relationship bridge. Communication is key but it does not do much when you say otherwise to people who believe and invested in their own point.
There are many encounters where I thought I was in a mature, positive and healthy argument which did not end up right.
I realised that people argue for mainly 2 reasons. 1. They are really close to the belief or 2. they really don’t like you and just want to win the argument. In any case they are invested.
We tend to go blind to weakness and loophole of our belief. Logic becomes irrelevant and takes a back seat. Its only natural.
I’m sure that most of us have lost friends or a family members to these kind of arguments. I have too.
I have realised that these arguments lead to no where and does not yield anything other than pain, turmoil and very bad cold war.
My friends, have an opinion, talk to yourself about it, question it with your logic. Probe everything that sounds right but be very careful while dealing with others. This may sound very very cowardly but I would rather be wrong and keep my friends and family than be right and lose all of them.
This can be a very unpopular view but I thought it is the one that must be shared. Anyways it’s a trick that I have used to keep myself away from negativity and propel towards connection, love.
This one will go on my memory slate.
